Anaemia

A low level of haemoglobin, commonly caused by iron deficiency.

Anaemia is common and is worth identifying and treating before pregnancy, because it affects wellbeing and pregnancy outcomes. Treatment depends on the cause, so testing first is better than taking iron blindly.
