Pelvic ultrasound

A scan of the uterus and ovaries.

Pelvic ultrasound looks for fibroids, ovarian cysts, polycystic-appearing ovaries and problems with the uterine cavity. It may be performed on the abdomen or, for clearer images, transvaginally.
