Ovarian reserve is estimated with an anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) blood test and an antral follicle count on ultrasound. These tests help predict how the ovaries may respond to stimulation. They describe quantity rather than quality, and they are not a reliable prediction of natural conception on their own.
