A euploid embryo, egg or sperm cell has the normal expected number of chromosomes (46 in an embryo's cells, 23 in an egg or sperm cell). On a PGT-A report, 'euploid' means the biopsy sample showed the expected chromosome number for that embryo. A euploid result improves the statistical likelihood of an embryo implanting and developing into an ongoing pregnancy compared with an aneuploid result, but it is not a guarantee — some euploid embryos still do not implant or continue to a healthy birth, since other embryonic and uterine factors also matter.
