A programmed frozen embryo transfer, also called a medicated FET, uses hormone medicines to build and prepare the uterine lining on a controlled schedule, rather than relying on a person's own ovulation. It allows the timing of transfer to be planned more precisely and can be used regardless of whether someone ovulates regularly. Programmed FET involves a defined course of medicines prescribed and monitored by your fertility team; the specific medicines, doses and monitoring schedule are individual clinical decisions, not something to start, stop or adjust without medical advice.
