Split IVF/ICSI

Split IVF/ICSI is an approach in which the eggs collected in a single cycle are divided into two groups, with some fertilised by conventional IVF and others by ICSI. It may be considered when semen parameters are borderline or when there is uncertainty about which method is likely to work best, so that the outcome of the cycle does not depend entirely on one approach. The embryology team decides how eggs are allocated and reports fertilisation separately for each group at the fertilisation check.
