Genotype

In everyday Nigerian use, the haemoglobin genotype result such as AA, AS or SS.

Strictly, genotype means a person's genetic make-up. In Nigerian preconception conversations it almost always refers to the haemoglobin genotype tested before marriage or pregnancy.
