Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs and digestive system and is one of the three conditions in Australia's Medicare-rebated reproductive carrier screening panel. Carriers have no symptoms. Some men with CF gene changes have congenital absence of the vas deferens and are infertile despite normal sperm production.
