Egg freezing

Egg freezing follows the same stimulation and collection steps as IVF, but the eggs are vitrified rather than fertilised. Success later depends heavily on age at freezing and the number stored — several cycles are often needed for a realistic chance. Storage fees continue each year, and Medicare rebates generally apply only to medical indications, not social egg freezing.
