Embryo transfer

Placing an embryo into the uterus through a fine catheter.

IVF & IUI

Transfer is usually quick and does not need anaesthetic. A soft catheter is passed through the cervix under ultrasound guidance and the embryo is released into the uterine cavity. Normal activity can be resumed the same day; bed rest does not improve success.
