Tests & investigations
A thin telescope is passed through the cervix to inspect the cavity directly. Small polyps, adhesions or a septum can often be treated during the same procedure. Diagnostic hysteroscopy may be done in clinic without anaesthetic; operative hysteroscopy is usually done under sedation or general anaesthetic.
