Endometrial receptivity describes the state in which the uterine lining is biologically ready to allow an embryo to implant, typically during a limited window in the menstrual or treatment cycle. It depends on a combination of endometrial thickness, pattern, hormonal timing, and molecular changes within the lining. Various tests have been developed to try to identify an individual's optimal implantation window or assess receptivity more directly, but current evidence on whether these tests reliably improve pregnancy rates in routine IVF care is limited and still evolving. Clinicians should explain the evidence and uncertainty clearly if such testing is discussed as part of treatment planning.
