Fertility testing
Ovarian volume is calculated from an ovary's measurements on ultrasound and gives an approximate idea of ovarian size. It tends to reduce as ovarian reserve declines with age, though it is used less often than AMH or antral follicle count for predicting fertility treatment response. Increased ovarian volume, together with a high number of small follicles, can be a feature seen in polycystic ovarian morphology, so ovarian volume is often reported alongside antral follicle count during a scan.
