Subserosal fibroid

A subserosal fibroid grows on the outer surface of the uterus, sometimes on a stalk (pedunculated). Because it does not usually affect the uterine cavity, this type of fibroid generally has the least impact on fertility and implantation compared with submucosal or intramural fibroids. Large subserosal fibroids can occasionally cause pressure symptoms or, rarely, twist on their stalk, but they are less often a target for treatment purely for fertility reasons unless symptomatic or very large.
