Unilateral tubal blockage

Unilateral tubal blockage affects only one tube. Because ovulation alternates between ovaries and the open tube can often still pick up an egg from either side, natural conception may still be possible, though sometimes at a reduced rate. Management depends on age, how long the couple has been trying, and whether other fertility factors are present; options range from continued monitoring or timed intercourse to IUI or IVF.
