Arrested embryo

An arrested embryo has stopped dividing and will not continue, most often because of chromosomal or other intrinsic problems in the egg or sperm. Some arrest is expected in every cycle. When all embryos arrest, the clinic will usually review whether laboratory conditions, sperm factors or egg quality could be contributing.
