Micro-TESE is a microsurgical version of TESE in which the surgeon uses an operating microscope to identify the tubules most likely to contain sperm, removing less tissue than standard TESE. It offers the best chance of finding sperm in non-obstructive azoospermia and is performed in specialised centres, coordinated with the embryology laboratory.
