Pregnancy
CVS samples placental tissue from around 11 to 14 weeks, giving diagnostic genetic results earlier than amniocentesis. Like amniocentesis it carries a small procedure-related miscarriage risk and is offered after high-chance screening or where a specific condition is being tested for.
