Combined first trimester screening pairs an 11–13 week ultrasound measuring nuchal translucency with maternal blood markers to estimate the chance of chromosomal conditions. It attracts a Medicare rebate, unlike NIPT, and the ultrasound also checks early anatomy and dating.
