Embryology
Immature eggs at the germinal vesicle or metaphase I stage cannot be fertilised at collection. Some mature in culture overnight, though embryos from these have lower success. A high proportion of immature eggs can suggest a timing or trigger issue worth reviewing before the next cycle.
