Fertility basics
Primary infertility means no pregnancy has ever been achieved by the person or couple concerned. It says nothing about the cause — the reason may lie with either partner, both, or remain unexplained after testing. The investigation pathway in Australia is the same as for secondary infertility: a history and examination, ovulation and hormone testing, semen analysis, and imaging of the uterus and tubes.
