Cross-border treatment

Some patients travel abroad for shorter waits, paid donor arrangements or lower prices. Canadian prohibitions on payment for gametes and surrogacy do not simply disappear abroad, and there are practical risks around follow-up, complications, record transfer and later parentage recognition.
