Pregnancy after treatment
Ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency because a tube can rupture and bleed. Risk is higher after tubal damage, previous ectopic pregnancy or IVF. Treatment may be expectant, medical with methotrexate or surgical. Call 911 or go to an emergency department for one-sided pelvic pain, shoulder-tip pain, faintness or heavy bleeding in early pregnancy.
