An underactive thyroid can cause irregular or absent periods, raised prolactin and an increased risk of miscarriage. It is treated with levothyroxine, with TSH rechecked regularly; requirements commonly increase in pregnancy. Never adjust thyroid medication yourself — ask the prescribing clinician.
