Ovarian reserve is estimated with AMH and an antral follicle count, sometimes with early-cycle FSH. It helps predict how many eggs a stimulation cycle may produce and guides the dose of medication. It says very little about egg quality, which tracks mainly with age, and it is a poor predictor of natural conception on its own.
