PGT requires IVF, a blastocyst biopsy and freezing while the sample is analysed. It comes in three forms: PGT-A for whole-chromosome errors, PGT-M for a specific inherited condition and PGT-SR for structural rearrangements. In Canada, PGT is generally an out-of-pocket cost, and sex selection for non-medical reasons is prohibited under federal law.
