ART clinics and ART banks are required under the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021 and Rules to maintain records of treatments, consents, gamete and embryo sources, and outcomes, and to report specified information to the National ART & Surrogacy Registry. The Act also imposes duties of confidentiality around donor and patient identity, subject to any disclosure the law specifically permits or requires. These records support continuity of care, help track outcomes nationally, and protect patients and donors from misuse of sensitive information.
