Fertility basics
Secondary infertility is difficulty conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to term after a previous pregnancy, live birth or miscarriage, whether with the same or a different partner. It can arise from new factors such as pelvic infection, tubal blockage, adenomyosis, declining ovarian reserve with age, or a change in a male partner's semen parameters. It is evaluated in the same structured way as primary infertility.
