Fertility basics
Subfertility describes reduced fertility — a lower-than-average chance of conceiving naturally — rather than a complete inability to conceive. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with infertility in clinical practice, though it emphasises that natural conception remains possible, sometimes with more time or with treatment such as ovulation induction or IUI.
