Assisted hatching

Assisted hatching uses a laser or other method to thin or breach the zona pellucida so the embryo can emerge more easily. Evidence of benefit for most patients is weak, and it is generally considered only in specific circumstances. It carries a small additional cost and is classed as an add-on.
