Egg freezing

Egg freezing involves the same stimulation and collection as IVF, but the eggs are vitrified rather than fertilised. It is used before medical treatment that may harm fertility, and electively by those wishing to preserve options for later. Outcomes depend heavily on age at freezing and the number of eggs stored, and freezing eggs is not a guarantee of a future baby.
