Gestational surrogate

In gestational surrogacy the embryo is created with the intended parents' or a donor's gametes, so the surrogate is not genetically related to the child. This is the usual arrangement in South African practice, and the law requires at least one commissioning parent's own gametes to be used in the embryo.
