Known donor

A donor the recipients already know, such as a friend or relative.

Donor treatment & family building

A known or directed donor is someone the intended parents know personally. Treatment must still go through a registered clinic with the same screening, quarantine and counselling as any other donation, and legal advice is strongly recommended so that everyone's expectations about contact and parental status are clear and recorded before treatment.
