Donor treatment & family building
Donor screening covers medical and family history, infection testing including HIV, hepatitis B and C and syphilis, genetic screening as indicated, and psychological assessment and counselling. South African regulations set out screening and quarantine requirements before donated material may be used, and clinics also limit the number of families created from one donor.
