Thaw

Thawing is the general term for returning frozen sperm, eggs or embryos to normal temperature so they can be used. For vitrified eggs and embryos the correct term is warming, because the process is much faster than traditional thawing. Not everything survives the process, so clinics confirm survival before proceeding.
