Fertility basics
A cumulative live birth rate counts the fresh transfer plus every frozen transfer using embryos from the same egg collection, up to the first live birth. It reflects the way IVF is actually delivered in Australia, where freezing surplus embryos is routine, and is usually higher than a per-transfer figure. Ask over how many transfers, and over what time period, a quoted cumulative figure was measured.
