Pregnancy
Gestational diabetes is screened for with a glucose tolerance test, usually between 24 and 28 weeks, and earlier where risk factors such as PCOS, higher BMI, previous gestational diabetes or certain ethnic backgrounds are present. It is managed with nutrition, activity and sometimes insulin, and usually resolves after birth.
