Male factor infertility

Male factor is involved in around half of couples having trouble conceiving, either alone or alongside a female factor. It is identified primarily through semen analysis, supported by examination, hormone tests and sometimes genetic testing. Many causes are treatable, and ICSI allows fertilisation even with very low sperm numbers.
