OHSS prevention

Steps taken to avoid ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.

Complications

Prevention includes using an antagonist protocol, individualised dosing, an agonist trigger where risk is high, freezing all embryos rather than transferring fresh, and sometimes cabergoline. Clinics identify risk from AMH, antral follicle count, oestradiol levels and the number of follicles, and will adjust the plan mid-cycle if needed.
