Fertility preservation
GnRH agonists are sometimes given during chemotherapy in an attempt to reduce ovarian damage, particularly in breast cancer. Evidence is mixed and it is not a substitute for freezing eggs, embryos or tissue where those are possible. It is decided jointly by the oncology and fertility teams.
