Fertility preservation

Fertility preservation protects the option of a genetic child later, whether before cancer treatment, gender-affirming care, surgery affecting the ovaries or testes, or for age-related reasons. Medical preservation is time-critical and should be discussed before treatment begins; some medical indications attract Medicare rebates where clinical criteria are met.
