Fertility preservation
Ovarian tissue cryopreservation removes and freezes strips of ovarian cortex, which can later be re-implanted to restore hormone function and fertility. It needs no stimulation and no delay, making it the option when cancer treatment must start immediately, and it is the only preservation method available before puberty. It is offered in a limited number of Australian centres.
