Complications
A pregnancy of unknown location means hCG is positive but no pregnancy can be seen in the uterus or elsewhere. It may turn out to be a very early intrauterine pregnancy, an early loss or an ectopic pregnancy. Management is close monitoring with repeat hCG and scans until the location is clear — attend every appointment offered.
