Smoking and fertility

How tobacco and vaping affect eggs, sperm and pregnancy.

Nutrition and lifestyle

Smoking reduces egg numbers, brings menopause forward, lowers IVF success and damages sperm DNA, as well as increasing miscarriage and pregnancy complications. Quitting improves outcomes at any stage. Support is free through Quitline on 13 7848 and through your GP; vaping is not established as a safe alternative in pregnancy.

Also known as: quitting smoking, vaping and fertility, tobacco
