Male fertility
Surgical sperm retrieval is used when there is no sperm in the ejaculate. Techniques include PESA and MESA from the epididymis and TESA, TESE and micro-TESE from the testis. Retrieved sperm are used with ICSI, either fresh or after freezing, and the choice of technique depends on whether the cause is obstructive.
