Embryology
Total fertilisation failure is uncommon but distressing. Causes include sperm factors, egg factors, or an activation problem where the egg does not respond after injection. Review with your embryologist usually leads to a change of approach next cycle, such as switching to ICSI or considering assisted oocyte activation in specific cases.
