Anovulation

Cycles in which no egg is released.

Fertility basics

Anovulation is a common and often treatable cause of infertility. Frequent causes include polycystic ovary syndrome, thyroid disorders, high prolactin, very low body weight or heavy exercise, and approaching ovarian insufficiency. Treatment aims at the underlying cause and often includes ovulation induction with letrozole.
