Eggs, sperm & embryos
Total fertilisation failure is uncommon. Causes include sperm factors, egg activation problems and, rarely, laboratory issues. After conventional IVF, ICSI is usually recommended for the next cycle; after ICSI, assisted oocyte activation may be discussed.
