Tests & investigations
Karyotyping is offered after recurrent pregnancy loss, in severe male-factor infertility and in some cases of primary ovarian insufficiency. It can identify conditions such as a balanced translocation, Klinefelter syndrome or Turner syndrome. Results are discussed with genetic counselling, because they affect both treatment options and family members.
