Laboratory fee

The laboratory fee covers the embryology work done after egg collection, including fertilisation (by IVF or ICSI), embryo culture, and grading of embryos before transfer or freezing. This fee is sometimes bundled into a package price and sometimes billed separately, particularly if additional laboratory techniques such as assisted hatching or extended culture to blastocyst stage are used. Ask the clinic which laboratory procedures are included in your quote, and whether the fee changes depending on the number of eggs collected or embryos cultured, since laboratory work is priced per patient in many clinics rather than as a flat fee.
